In this role, you’ll be part of the Department of FISCal’s core support team that helps California departments use the statewide financial system effectively. Think of it as combining your accounting expertise with customer support and problem-solving to keep a massive financial operation running smoothly.

You’ll serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for key accounting areas in the FI$Cal system—like Accounts Receivable, Billing, Cash Management, and General Ledger. Day to day, you’ll help departments troubleshoot issues, answer questions, research and resolve system problems, and guide users through complex transactions. You’ll also help develop and deliver training to end-users so they can work more confidently and efficiently in FI$Cal.

Please note that to be list appointed for placement in the Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) classification, you must take and pass the examination.

Working Conditions

At FI$Cal, we currently offer a remote-centered position with the flexibility of telework up to three days per week. In-office attendance is mandatory on designated days and is subject to change. Our office is located at 2000 Evergreen Street, Sacramento, CA. Candidates residing outside of California are welcome to interview, but proof of California residency is required before appointment. Please note, relocation and commute expenses are the responsibility of the employee.

This position requires prolonged sitting in an office-setting environment with the use of a personal computer. Employees must demonstrate a commitment to maintain a working environment free from discrimination and sexual harassment. All staff must maintain regular, consistent, predictable attendance, maintain good working habits and adhere to all policies and procedures.
