Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Augusta, Georgia. In this role, you will support essential accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, data entry, and invoice processing. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative environment while gaining hands-on experience with financial reporting and bookkeeping. Responsibilities: - Process and manage daily invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper data entry using Excel. - Handle accounts receivable by maintaining communication with customers and ensuring timely payment of invoices. - Manage accounts payable processes, including payments to operational vendors such as utilities. - Prepare monthly financial reports, including income statements and general ledger entries, in collaboration with remote teams. - Coordinate with on-site and remote teams to ensure financial processes align with overall business operations. - Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with company standards. - Utilize QuickBooks to assist in tracking and reconciling financial transactions. - Conduct routine reviews of accounting data to identify and resolve discrepancies. - Provide administrative support for accounting-related tasks as needed. - Assist with compiling expenditure and sales data for detailed reporting. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting or financial data entry; entry-level candidates with relevant coursework are encouraged to apply. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to manipulate and analyze spreadsheets. - Familiarity with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. - Knowledge of general ledger (GL) procedures and income statement preparation is preferred. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management. - Experience using QuickBooks for accounting tasks is highly desirable. - Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with both on-site and remote teams. - Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
