Accounting Manager
Location: Lincoln Park, Chicago (Hybrid: 1 remote day/week after 90 days)
Job Type: Full-time (Monday–Friday)
Salary: $55,000–$65,000 annually + bonus opportunity, based on experience

About the Role
We are seeking a highly resourceful, detail-oriented, and proactive individual to join our growing team at High Fidelity Property Management. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable process, managing financial operations, and ensuring smooth and professional communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams. You must be a strong problem solver who takes initiative and feels confident interacting with utility providers, vendors, and clients alike.

This role requires intermediate to advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with Chicago-area utility payment portals (e.g., Peoples Gas, ComEd, City of Chicago Water Portal) is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle for assigned entities.
  • Review and audit invoices entered by AP staff before posting to the general ledger.
  • Post transactions accurately and timely to journals, ledgers, and financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and communicate procedures effectively.
  • Generate monthly financial statements with relevant commentary.
  • Develop and maintain monthly forecasting and financial projections.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets for assigned entities.
  • Complete year-end IRS Form 1099 filings.
  • Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Maintain open, professional, and proactive communication with vendors, clients, and team members.
  • Navigate and manage payments through various utility portals (e.g., ComEd, Peoples Gas, City of Chicago).
  • Take ownership of special projects as assigned by the Controller or CEO.
