Job Description

Position Overview:

Power your future with Qualus in our Project Management department as an Assistant Project Manager. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. Under general direction from the Project Manager, assists in managing power generation projects to ensure all phases of approved projects are completed efficiently and within scope, on schedule, and within budget. Works closely with personnel to engineer, design, site, permit and construct assigned projects. Assists project managers with securing approval for permits and licenses, budgets materials, contractors, and other resources.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the planning and implementation of project

  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables

  • Define project tasks and resource requirements

  • Develop full scale project plans

  • Assemble and coordinate project staff

  • Manage project resource allocation

  • Plan and schedule project timelines

  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools

  • Direction and support to project team

  • Quality assurance

  • Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions to manager/lead PM

  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of Project Management experience, or Associate Degree and 4 years of Project Management experience.

  • 1-3 years of Project Management or Business Analyst experience supporting major projects

  • Experience or a desire to learn about project financial tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Commitment to safety.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, and decision making skills.
  • Ability to liaise between designers, owners, contractors, and end-users.
