Position: Installer / Carpenter
Location: Mobile, AL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $18 hr DOE
Genesis is seeking an experienced
Carpenter/Installer responsible for installing doors, frames, and builders’ hardware in the commercial construction industry.
Essential Functions
- Install doors, frames, and builders’ hardware at end-user locations and new commercial construction sites.
- Work independently or with other installers to install Division 8/10 products as assigned and trained.
- Receive, understand, and execute work orders accurately.
- Follow manufacturer instructions, warranty requirements, and job specifications for installation, adjustment, replacement, disassembly, and removal of materials.
- Safely and skillfully operate various power and hand tools.
- Provide professional, friendly, and high-quality customer service with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Adapt to varying work hours based on site needs; occasional travel is required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Trade School preferred).
- Some installation experience with doors, frames, hardware products, or Division 10 products.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read and understand specifications, installation instructions, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
- Proficient use of measuring tools including tape measures, levels, and other installation tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to understand and follow detailed instructions.
- Detail-oriented team player with the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands
- Spend more than 2/3 of the time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands, and reaching.
- Spend approximately 1/3 of the time walking and talking/hearing.
- Frequently lift items weighing 50–80 pounds.
Work Environment
- May require driving to various project sites.
- Exposure to variable weather conditions.
- Possible proximity to forklifts, heavy machinery, and various tools/hardware.
- Frequent heavy lifting required.
