Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Demolition Worker to join our construction team. This role involves safely and efficiently tearing down structures, preparing sites for new construction, and assisting with various demolition-related tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience working on construction sites, proficiency with hand tools and power tools, and a strong understanding of safety protocols. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing a wide range of skills including blueprint reading, heavy equipment operation, and finishing techniques.

Duties

  • Safely demolish buildings and structures using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to execute demolition tasks accurately
  • Remove debris and hazardous materials from job sites in compliance with safety standards
  • Assist with site preparation for new construction or renovation projects
  • Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, or cranes as required
  • Perform tasks related to concrete forming, masonry, framing, roofing, and other construction activities as needed
  • Use specialized skills such as plumbing, electrical work, plastering, carpentry (including trim carpentry and door hanging), stucco application, caulking, tile laying, flooring installation, welding, and restoration work when applicable
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times

Experience

  • Prior experience in demolition or general construction site work is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with bluebeam software for project documentation is a plus
  • Knowledge of construction management practices and estimating processes is advantageous
  • Hands-on experience with blueprint reading and schematics interpretation is beneficial
  • Skills in operating heavy equipment safely and effectively are required
  • Experience with various construction trades such as masonry, carpentry (frame carpentry), roofing, glass installation, cabinet installation, restoration, hardscape work, drywall finishing (plastering), concrete finishing, tile laying, welding, flooring installation, or similar fields will be considered an asset
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments while adhering to safety standards is essential
