About This Position

The Pipeline Compliance Data Analyst/Engineer Intern will work closely with Gas Operations, Asset Management, and other groups involved in DOT pipeline compliance activities . The role focuses on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting operational data related to natural gas distribution systems , including inspections, maintenance, asset attributes, and regulatory requirements. This internship involves working with data tied to the physical gas pipeline network . The intern will develop hands-on experience in data visualization, statistical analysis, and process improvement within a real utility environment. This internship offers meaningful exposure to how data supports safe and reliable gas pipeline operations.

About This Job

• Collect and clean gas pipeline and compliance-related data from various internal systems to ensure accuracy and quality
• Assist in data analysis using statistical techniques and data visualization tools
• Support the creation of reports, dashboards, and presentations related to pipeline inspections, maintenance, field activities and compliance metrics
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Gas Operations, Asset Management, GIS, Compliance) to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights
• Contribute to the development of data-driven strategies to solve business problems
• Help identify trends, patterns, and opportunities through data analysis.

• Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
• Pursuing a degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, or related) or a technical/data-focused field (Data Analytics)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• For data-focused applicants: Experience with data analysis tools or software preferred (Excel, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
• For engineering applicants: Knowledge related to utility systems, gas operations, energy infrastructure is preferred
• Has successfully completed freshman year or above
• Must be in good academic standing
• Must provide GPA in resume upon application
