Together, we thrive as we shape the future of health for patients, our communities, and our people. If you want to be part of tomorrow’s health today, we want to hear from you.

A Third-Party Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for managing and securing interactions with external organizations, including customers, suppliers, and entities involved in mergers and acquisitions (M&A). This role ensures that third-party connections and integrations are secure and compliant with organizational policies and industry standards. Unlike the Cybersecurity Technical Strategist, who focuses on technical strategies, and the Functional Strategist, who aligns cybersecurity with business objectives, the Third-Party Cybersecurity Architect specializes in the security aspects of external partnerships and integrations.

Key Responsibilities

Third-Party Integration Security:

Design and implement security measures for integrating third-party systems and networks. Assess and manage security risks associated with third-party connectivity and data sharing. Ensure secure configuration and continuous monitoring of third-party access points.

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Security:

Conduct cybersecurity due diligence for M&A activities to identify potential security risks. Develop and implement integration plans to secure the merging of IT systems and data. Ensure that acquired entities comply with the organization's security policies and standards.

Third-Party Risk Management:

Develop and maintain a comprehensive third-party risk management program. Conduct regular security assessments and audits of third-party vendors and partners. Monitor third-party compliance with security requirements and contractual obligations.

Policy Development and Enforcement:

Establish and enforce policies and procedures for third-party cybersecurity. Ensure that third-party agreements include appropriate security clauses and requirements. Develop guidelines for secure data sharing and connectivity with third-party organizations.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with legal, procurement, and vendor management teams to ensure third-party agreements include necessary security provisions. Collaborate with internal teams to integrate third-party security requirements into project plans and workflows. Communicate security expectations and requirements to third-party partners and vendors.

Incident Response and Management:

Develop and implement incident response plans for third-party security incidents. Coordinate with third-party entities during security incidents to ensure timely and effective resolution. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.

Training and Awareness:

Provide training and guidance on third-party security practices to internal stakeholders. Raise awareness of third-party security risks and best practices across the organization. Ensure third-party partners are aware of and comply with the organization's security expectations.

Educational Background:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Advanced technical certifications or a Master’s degree are preferred.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on third-party risk management and integration.
  • Proven experience in managing security for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Experience with a variety of security technologies and platforms.

Skills:
  • Deep understanding of third-party risk management frameworks and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.

Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or similar are highly desirable.

Performance Metrics
  • Effectiveness of security measures for third-party integrations and M&A activities.
  • Compliance of third-party entities with security policies and contractual requirements.
  • Reduction in third-party-related security incidents and breaches.
  • Efficiency and performance of third-party risk management processes.
  • Engagement and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on third-party security initiatives.
