Position Overview

As a Technical Animator Intern, you’ll collaborate with engineers and artists to bring realistic motion and character performance to life — connecting animation, physics, and AI. You’ll gain hands-on experience working at the intersection of art and technology within a fast-moving robotics company.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of animation pipelines for humanoid and robotic characters.
  • Support rigging, retargeting, and motion capture workflows.
  • Work with engineers to integrate animation data into real-time systems and simulations (e.g., Unreal, Unity, Isaac Sim).
  • Prototype motion blending and procedural animation tools.
  • Help debug and optimize animation assets for runtime performance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Animation, Game Development, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Familiarity with Maya, Blender, or MotionBuilder.
  • Basic understanding of rigging, motion capture, and animation principles
  • Python or C++ scripting for animation tools or pipeline automation.
  • Curiosity about simulation, robotics, or physically-based animation.
  • Strong collaborative mindset — comfortable working with both artists and engineers.

Base Salary Range

$100,000—$300,000 USD
