Maintains the Arduous Fitness Standard in accordance with Department policy. The incumbent is required to wear respiratory protection equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). As such CAL/OSHA requires the incumbent to be annually medically cleared to be fit-tested for respiratory protection equipment. Possession of a valid State of California Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate. Desirable qualification: a valid grade 3 or higher wastewater operator certificate and a grade 1 or higher water distribution operator certificate (not a water treatment cert). Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Positions located at a Camp or requiring the supervision of inmates requires compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act. Any person/employee that has been convicted of a Felony and not received written consent, is committing a Felony.
