Job Description
One of the largest public medical schools in Memphis, TN is looking for an Accounting Assistant/Clerk. The Accounting Clerk provides clerical and accounting support for financial operations within the University. This role ensures accurate processing of invoices, payments, and account reconciliations while maintaining compliance with university policies and state regulations. Daily responsibilities will include processing invoices and matching purchase orders with receiving documents, entering financial data into IRIS/DASH or Oracle systems and preparing petty cash forms, travel reimbursements, and reconcile monthly account statements.
Other daily duties will include:
-Maintaining accurate records and filing systems for departmental transactions.
-Communicating with vendors, faculty, and staff regarding payment status and account inquiries.
-Assisting with purchasing, inventory control, and contract tracking.

Skills and Requirements
3+ years of experience in accountingProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
Experience with invoice processing: Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices for payment.
Data Entry: Entering payment and purchasing information Experience with IRIS/DASH or Oracle financial systems.
