Job Description
Job Summary Lead Consultant (CICS & zOS), Hartford, CT
- Serve as the primary onsite expert for CICS and zOS technologies, providing installation, configuration, and management of CICS software, application regions, and ISV software.
- Install, configure, and manage zOS Connect regions for both inbound and outbound APIs.
- Lead semiannual maintenance migrations and ensure software currency across development, QA, and production environments.
- Optimize CICS performance by leveraging deep knowledge of CICS parameters and internals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents, collaborating with IBM and ISV vendors as needed.
- Analyze and manage software installation using SMPE, including PTF and HOLDDATA analysis, and triage HIPER, FIXCAT, and PEd PTFs.
- Support business groups by understanding their requirements and providing technical expertise and solutions.
- May also participate in migration of transaction definitions, creation of new CICS regions, started tasks, and address spaces.
- Potentially work with TPX, EOS, and CA GEN software as part of application support and environment management.
- Ensure all activities comply with organizational policies and best practices for mainframe system administration.
