Job Description

Dal-Tile is currently seeking a Production Operator to join our TEAM! As the Production Associate we need someone who can take charge of ensuing correct quality control of materials produced such as inspecting, buffing, handling and counting selected units of ceramic tile. This position will be from 6pm-6am.

Primary Objective:

• Performs a variety of duties including inspecting, buffing, and counting selected units of ceramic tile.
• Major Function and Scope.
• Removes fired tile from conveyor line and inspects for defects.
• Places defective tile in trash container and places good tile in cardboard shipping container.
• May assemble cardboard shipping containers and place product labels on these containers.
• May take selected tile and attach to prepared backing in the tile mounting process.
• May perform minor functions of other positions for break relief.
• Follows ISO operating procedures and maintains quality checks as specified.
• Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.
• Keeps area safe, clean, and organized.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Experience and Knowledge Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• 1 year previous manufacturing/production experience preferred.

Competencies:

• Good oral and written communications skills. 
• Good record keeping skills. 
• Good listening skills. 
• Accurate measurement capability. 
• Ability to understand and speak basic English.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance. The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud.
