Position Summary


Join Lakeland Regional Health’s established and high-energy Orthopedic Team! New Grads Welcome! Lakeland Regional seeks an Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider to contribute to our tradition of providing patient-centered orthopedic care in beautiful Lakeland, Florida! Our wide-ranging orthopedic services include Ortho Trauma, Hand/Plastic surgery , sports medicine, hand and total joint specialties. Functioning independently and in coordination with our ortho physicians. Collaborate with ER, other hospital physicians, and interdisciplinary team. Opportunity to first assist during surgical procedures, performing bedside orthopedic procedures.

Position Highlights include:

• Hospital/Operating room and clinic practice

• Working side by side with a Plastic/Hand Surgeon with cross coverage as needed.

• Extensive Orthopedic Services

• Level II Trauma Center, 4 Intensive Care Units, and dedicated Ortho Trauma operating rooms

    • Manages clinic care of patients consistent with the standard of care set forth by the supervising orthopedic physician(s).
    • Performs history and physical exams, develops and implements a plan of care including ordering of labs and imaging studies when indicated.
    • First assists in surgical procedures.
    • Reinforces the plan of care and educates patients and family regarding the diagnosis and treatment plan.
    • Maintains thorough documentation/dictation in a professional and timely manner.
    • Teaches and mentors others (nurses/staff) to continuously increase competence of team.
    • Adheres to HIPPA standards; maintains patient confidentiality. Participates in fracture care clinic.

Master Degree

  • Must be a board licensed Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with RNFA certification.

Experience Essential:
Three to five years of experience in professional/technical role or other work appropriate to the team.

Experience Preferred:
Specialty experience relevant to department.

Certifications Essential:
Per department or hospital requirements and relevant policies.

Licenses Essential:
Florida State Physician Assistant License and NCCPA certification

Certifications Preferred:
NCCPA Certification
